Of course French food is famous and despite the fact that you see now more western chains (Starbucks, ever present McDonalds, Subway, etc). Even many of the brasseries are owned by corporations, good food is still to be found.
The nice thing is even if one is observing dietary restrictions, like me for example, I found good halal Pate at a Muslim corner shop. Ok, I don't always keep a strict diet, so last night had delicious Foie Grais with Fig chutney, and a few bites of Beef Tartare.
I'm still new in Paris, so any comments on places to go, please write.
